Susan Goetzinger Recognized for Leadership and Contributions
Riverton, Wyoming • LifePoint Hospitals® has named Susan Goetzinger, chief financial officer of Riverton Memorial Hospital (RMH) in Riverton, Wyo., the 2009 CFO of the Year. LifePoint is a leading hospital company focused on providing healthcare services in non-urban communities.
Goetzinger is the first recipient of the newly established award, which was presented at the LifePoint Operations Leadership Conference on January 28 in Nashville, Tenn. The new Officer of the Year awards are based on LifePoint's Leadership Model, which focuses on the mastery
of business, relationship and personal skills and includes the core values that serve as a compass for those behaviors - honor, trustworthiness, legal and ethical compliance, and compassion.
Randy McVay, operations CFO for LifePoint, presented the award, highlighting Goetzinger's strong management skills.
"Susan exemplifies LifePoint's core value of strong leadership, performing her duties with complete professionalism. Susan's excellent communication skills combined with her sense of passion, respect, and commitment to collaboration allow her to effectively influence change," said McVay.
Susan continually strives to achieve improvements in process and financial reporting. Additionally, she is both a teacher and a student. She is dedicated to her own personal and professional development, plus she contributes to the professional development of her staff and always makes time to take part in employee activities."
Chris Smolik, chief executive officer of RMH, said Goetzinger is also committed to giving of her time and talent to make a difference in the community.
"Susan is a dedicated volunteer. She has served as president of Riverton Community Development and treasurer of the Riverton Downtowner's Association. She also serves as a volunteer member of the High School Education Advisory Board and has logged hundreds of miles traveling to Friday night football games."
